Institutions like Planned Parenthood, who provide abortion services, offer many more services to women, keeping them safer, and healthier. If you want to give a cut to the lowest 2 brackets and add a bracket at a higher rate for people making $250,000 a year or more, I would be for that. Most regulations in place for the private sector are there to protect the workers, or the environment. | |||

| Medicaid Expansion is an absolute necessity. We were at 150,000+ citizens that fell into the "gap" we have between KanCare's requirements and the Federal requirements. That number has likely increased significantly since COVID-19 has led to many losing their jobs, that now find themselves without the insurance they had wit their employer. | |||

| With COVID-19 wrecking havoc with our State budget it is important to protect certain areas from cuts that may be needed to balance a budget. I will work to protect funding for social services, especially for youth, families, and our seniors. Funding for K-12 education should be protected as well. The State just reached an agreement in court to get our funding to Constitutional levels and they must come through with the promised funding. More transparency is also a must in our State Legislature. | |||
| Medicaid Expansion. Thirty-seven states have, or are in the process of, expanding their Medicaid programs through the federal program. Ensuring healthcare availability in rural areas would be increased with Expansion, as hospitals could remain open and Medical professionals would see rural offices more financially feasible. The amount of money that would come in from the federal government, the increase in dollars for rural health systems, the jobs generated in the healthcare sector would make Expansion Budget Neutral. It's a moral question, not a political one. |
